The 2015 Canadian Silver Maple Leaf stands as one of the most recognized and trusted silver bullion coins worldwide. Struck by the Royal Canadian Mint from 1 troy ounce of .9999 fine silver, this Brilliant Uncirculated (BU) coin offers collectors and investors a combination of exquisite craftsmanship, advanced security, and unparalleled purity.

A bold, vivid sugar maple leaf, Canada's national emblem and the ideal metaphor for the great North is illustrated on the reverse side. The maple leaf is beautiful, resilient, omnipresent throughout the land, and has a diverse range of species. The depiction demonstrates the Royal Canadian Mint's unapparelled quality, as meticulous attention to detail is paid, from the leaf's texturing to its unique shape to its veins. Adorning the coin's field are light-refracting, micro-radial lines, with the privy mark, metal type and weight, and purity all included.
On the obverse is a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. Since its introduction in 1988, the Canadian Silver Maple Leaf has featured only a bust of Queen Elizabeth II. Her late Majesty was the only monarch known to generations of Canadians, but her death in September 2022 means that her son Charles now reigns as King Charles III. Shown here is the left-hand relief portrait of the new British monarch, which is in a different direction from the right-hand relief portrait of Her Majesty the Queen, who is now deceased. The change in orientation from one monarch to the next is a tradition on British coins and applies to Canadian coins as well.
Since its introduction in 1988, the iconic Royal Canadian Mint Silver Maple Leaf (SML) has been a highly sought-after bullion investment coin. The SML is minted with one troy ounce (31.11 grams) of 99.99% fine silver and has a face value of $5. All 2015 SML bullion coins include enhanced security features: radial lines, a micro-engraved maple leaf and BULLION DNA™ Anti Counterfeiting Technology. They also include MINTSHIELD™ surface protection: the world’s first proven approach to reducing the occurrence of white spots and discolorations on silver bullion coins.
The Royal Canadian Mint is known as one of the most reputable mints in the world. The Ottawa Branch of the Royal Mint opened in 1908 and was renamed The Royal Canadian Mint in 1931 when control was transferred to the Canadian government. Their high standards for excellence and quality allowed them to be the first refinery to manufacture 9999 fine gold bullion coins in 1982, as well as the first to reach 99999 fine gold purity in 1998.
